Program Information

Saint Ignatius Cheerleading is focused on developing confidence in our young cheerleaders while entertaining the crowd and showing spirit for the Saint Ignatius Football team.  St Ignatius cheerleading organization is a non-competitive recreational team.  No previous cheerleading or tumbling experience required to participate.  Cheerleaders will learn cheers, beginner jumps, and a dance routine.

The cheerleading season starts in late July and runs through October( through November for older grades). The season is kicked off with a Cheer Camp held in Saint Ignatius parking lot. Cheerleaders learn a dance at this camp that will be performed at Saint Ignatius Home field football games.  Practices extend through August.  Practices are once or twice per week at coach discretion.  Once school starts, practices will be limited to one night per week.  Older grades (4-8) can expect the season to extend through Thanksgiving depending on the play-offs and bowl games.

The cheer schedule will be determined by individual coaches and communicated to parents.  Cheerleaders will expect to predominantly cheer for home games.  The football game schedule is typically announced mid-August with the first game late August.  St Ignatius teams play in West 1 division. For football league schedules, please see the following link
