 2026 Girls Classic Basketball Tournament

After significant consideration, all 7th and 8th grade teams will once again be participating in the GCCYS league.   The GCCYS has an earlier season that runs at the same time as St. Ignatius Volleyball (mid-October through January).  We will coordinate with volleyball to ensure practice and game schedules will conflict as minimally as possible. This change will provide our girls with the chance to compete against different and more evenly matched teams.  If you have any inquiries, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to welcoming back all 7th and 8th grade girls for an exciting basketball season!

Grades 3-6 will again play in the GWAC league after the 7th-8th grade season concludes.  Second grade will play in our inner-St. Ignatius league, which begins in February. 

2025 Registration Dates:
2nd grade - Early October until December 31st

5th/6th Grades - November 3rd and November 6th
3rd/4th Grades - November 9th

Orders for the shooting shirts are closed for the 2026 season.

Sign ups for 2nd grade girls wanting to participate in an instructional basketball league open October 1st through December 31st. Cost is $45.  The season will consist of 7 practices/games at Cheviot Field House on 8 foot rims. Teams will really work on the basics of the game and have every girl with the ball a lot.  The season will begin in February. We will update details as they come. There is no tournament for 2nd Grade

Process: 
7 games/practices (30 minutes of half court practices followed by 30 minutes of full court games)
